The IM and GIS Officer is primarily responsible for designing, managing, maintaining and analysing programme operational and open-source mapping data, and the production of accurate, informative mapping to assist humanitarian demining operations. Solid information management is fundamental to HALO mine action operations. The IM and GIS Officer is the means by which HALO’s operational activities are properly recorded, processed, analysed and disseminated. The IM and GIS Officer is required to maintain an in depth understanding of the operating processes adhered to by teams in Gaza, in order to establish effective systems that meet the requirements of internal standards, and where possible with with UNMAS to influence good practice of data management across the sector.
