ABOUT A MORE PERFECT UNION

A More Perfect Union is a nonpartisan social-impact organization that mobilizes the American Jewish community to protect and strengthen democracy. We educate American Jews, equip Jewish institutions, and activate Jewish leaders to respond to the growing threat of authoritarianism and be engines for civic renewal in their communities. Rooted in the enduring American Jewish experience and powered by evidence-based strategies, we help communities meet this moment with clarity, courage, and collective action. Through research, messaging, training, and partnership, we’re building a future where democracy works for all of us.

A More Perfect Union is fiscally sponsored by Goodnation Foundation and guided by our Strategic Advisors.

ABOUT THE POSITION

A More Perfect Union is in an exciting and demanding phase of growth. This expansion means we need sharp, organized, mission-driven people helping us build the operational infrastructure to sustain it. The Operations & Special Projects Intern will work at the nerve center of this growth, supporting the Director, Operations across a diverse portfolio of projects. If you are the kind of person who loves making systems work better — who gets genuine satisfaction from a well-organized spreadsheet, a tidy database, or a process that actually holds — this role is for you. This is a remote, full-time internship role reporting to the Director, Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Project-Based Learning (50%)

We believe that the best internships are the ones where you can own and deliver on a project with support. Among the projects under consideration for summer 2026 are:

  • Merch Storefront - Support the launch of a pilot merchandise/storefront initiative under the supervision of the Director of Operations and in partnership with the Vice President, Strategic Communications & Research.
  • Election Action Tracker - Partner with the Election Partnerships Intern on the development of a local election action tracker, making recommendations on platform selection (e.g., Airtable, Google Sheet, etc.) and supporting the build and deployment of this new tool.
  • Google Drive and Knowledge Management - Help us design an overhaul of our core knowledge management tools, including a restructure of Google Drive and building the foundation for future AI-based knowledge management.

Data & Knowledge Management (~20%)

  • Audit, clean, and analyze organizational data to improve data integrity and support stronger engagement with core audiences (partners, individuals, and prospects)
  • As needed, help strengthen organizational systems by improving trackers, drafting templates, documenting repeatable processes, and supporting special projects as organizational needs evolve.

Operations & Special Projects (~10%)

  • Provide logistics support for team retreats and staff convenings (in person and virtual)  including venue research, scheduling coordination, agenda preparation, and materials management.
  • Support special projects at the direction of the VP, People & Operations and Director, Operations as organizational needs evolve.

Immersive Learning (~20%)

  • Participate in internal and external team meetings, network-facing webinars, and coalition calls to develop a rich understanding of the Jewish pro-democracy ecosystem.
  • Attend a weekly meaning-making session with your supervisor to connect day-to-day tasks to the organization's broader mission and your own professional development.

  • Passion for A More Perfect Union's vision and approach
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detai
  • Demonstrated comfort with data management, database tools, or research — through coursework, extracurriculars, or prior work/internship experience
  • Facility with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive); comfort learning new tools such as Zoho CRM, Asana, Notion, or Slack
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment
  • Ability to synthesize information across multiple sources and turn it into clear, usable systems or recommendations
  • Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and move projects forward with appropriate guidance
  • Professional and/or academic exposure to the American Jewish community, the pro-democracy movement, or nonprofit operations is a plus, but not required
  • Commitment to A More Perfect Union's Core Values: Action-Oriented, Collaborative, Trustworthy, Curious, Resolute, and Joyful
