  • Lead our AI playground – think playful prototypes, amazing agents, and helping our people be brilliant
  • Define and deliver the future of our people tech – from fresh functionality, powerful partnerships to implementing new platforms, you’ll set the roadmap and bring it to life
  • Spot trends and future-of-work insights before they’re mainstream – and translate them into experiments, tools, or smarter ways of working
  • Roll up your sleeves to improve our existing tools and flows – think onboarding, performance, rewards – making them simpler, slicker, and more human
  • Build the team’s confidence to adopt new tools – from AI to automation – with hands-on demos, plotting and practical collaboration moments
  • Act as a connector between tech, data and people experience – translating needs, mapping processes, and finding customer-first solutions that feel intuitive
  • Be the team’s trusted advisor on everything from data privacy to dashboard storytelling – helping us stay compliant, secure, and savvy

What you’ll need

  • You might have worked in a dedicated HRIS or HR Systems role, or maybe you started out as a curious HR generalist or HR Business Partner and found yourself becoming the go-to person for all things people tech. Alternatively, you might just be starting out in your first few People roles, with a flair for all things digital.Confident experimenting with different AI tools and smarter prompting
  • Experience with modern HR tools (think Hi-Bob, Workable, Peakon – not the mega Oracles and Workdays of the world)
  • A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on tinkering – you’re just as happy training an agent as you are designing a roadmap
  • Analytical brilliance – the curiosity to ask “what if?” and to think about what data we’ll need, where and how, to answer Virgin’s big questions
  • Change-ready mindset – from piloting new ideas to launching full systems
  • A love for making things better, not just managing what’s there

The extra details

Role type: Permanent
Location: London hub (approx. 2 days per week)  & your home space
Salary: £55-70k plus bonus - We're putting our salaries out there for everyone to see - no smoke and mirrors, just honest numbers. We'll offer a salary that matches your skills, always aiming for room to grow.
