Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor all Real Assets and Sustainable Investments allocations by maintaining portfolio management databases (Dynamo) and conducting a variety of performance, holdings, and cash flow analyses
Assist in due diligence on new investment opportunities with the Real Assets and Sustainable Investments team by conducting market and investment research, creating financial analyses, participating in due diligence meetings and reference calls, and contributing to written investment memorandums
Lead operational due diligence efforts on likely investments, including review and synthesis of managers’ policies, fund terms, team composition, and risk management practices.
Prepare for and participate in meetings and calls with senior-level executives from a variety of institutions, including active managers, prospective managers, and portfolio companies
Collaborate with the Foundation’s Legal team on all aspects of closing new investments and managing active investments, including legal due diligence, subscription execution, and active manager requests
Liaise with the Finance team on all issues relating to the monitoring and reporting of these investments, including regular cash flow and market value reconciliations
Acquire and review benchmark information for performance measurement
Support quarterly investment committee book production with written portfolio reports and updated financial dashboards
Perform special projects, including research on new areas of investment and bespoke financial models, as requested
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on accounting, economics, engineering, finance, or business administration
Two to three years of work experience in asset class investing or significant financial analysis experience (i.e. management consulting or investment banking)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including advanced Excel skills required
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take initiative
Self-motivated, passionate about investing, and collaborative
Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) required
Detail-oriented and well organized
Ability to meet tight deadlines is critical
The position is hybrid and based in Chicago, Illinois.
