SUMMARY
USA for UNHCR is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Community Partnerships to support the growth and execution of its Community Partnerships Program. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Community Partnerships, this role focuses primarily on supporting the execution and day-to-day coordination of U4U’s Marathon Program, which includes World Marathon Majors Events such as the TCS New York City Marathon, Bank of America Chicago Marathon, and TCS London Marathon.
The Associate of Community Partnerships also supports third-party peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives, including DIY fundraising and emergency response campaigns, and supports the implementation of program strategies to strengthen and scale these channels. This role is critical to effective program execution, participant stewardship, and operational support with a strong emphasis on retention and long-term engagement.
This is a hybrid-flex position requiring in-person attendance at USA for UNHCR’s New York City office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Senior Manager of Community Partnerships, in program execution, including coordination and delivery of World Marathon Majors running events (e.g., registration, communications, logistics, and participant stewardship).
- Support recruitment and onboarding of new runners and fundraising participants to ensure a smooth and engaging experience, implementing retention and incentive strategies as directed.
- Support backend Marathon Program operations, including fundraising page setup, automated email journeys, runner screening and agreements, registration, and general participant support under the guidance of the Senior Manager, including assistance with contract renewal processes for USA for UNHCR’s World Marathon Major partnerships.
- Support and participate in Program events, including ongoing stewardship activities such as monthly virtual meetups, and travel to Marathon race weekends to support team events and onsite logistics.
- Support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies for third-party and emergency response initiatives, including assisting with audience identification, messaging execution, activations plans, and cross-functional coordination.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure runners and third-party fundraisers are integrated into broader communications and events, support the drafting and coordination of content packages, and assist identifying opportunities for additional communication channels, including social media, email, and SMS.
- Track and credit gifts, maintain accurate participant and donor records, and produce performance reports to monitor program metrics, support program insights, and improve retention, engagement, and participant experience.
- Prepare materials, presentations and report and participate in internal and external meetings, with increasing ownership over time

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience coordinating, or supporting, fundraisers, volunteers, or participants
- 2-4 years of fundraising experience, including exposure to endurance events or peer-to-peer fundraising.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, peer-to-peer fundraising platforms, Salesforce or similar CRMs, and project management tools such as Jira.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with experience supporting workflows and program coordination.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to evolving needs, and demonstrate sound judgment and emotional intelligence in a professional environment.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of refugee issues, humanitarian programs, and global affairs; a demonstrated passion for USA for UNHCR’s mission and familiarity with United Nations agencies preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required and ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally, including some weekends.

COMPENSATION
$38.24 - $44.93 per hour, based on a 35-hour work week.
