Business Development Director (Switzerland)
As Business Development Director for Switzerland, you will be responsible for originating, developing, and managing institutional and professional client relationships in Switzerland and, potentially, neighbouring countries. Your remit covers the full business development cycle, from identifying and cultivating new opportunities to expanding existing partnerships, with a core focus on private credit, fixed income and private equity strategies. You will act as a trusted advisor and ambassador for BlueOrchard, delivering strong client outcomes aligned with our impact-driven investment philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive growth and origination of new business among new and existing clients in Switzerland and, potentially, neighbouring countries.
- Lead the origination and execution of business development initiatives, covering all aspects of the sales process to ensure successful investor conversion and onboarding.
- Partner closely with the Investment teams to ensure a consistent, strategic approach to client engagement, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate effectively across functions (Investment, Operations, Legal, Marketing, Communications) to deliver integrated impact investing solutions and resolve client issues and questions.
- Establish and deepen long-term relationships built on trust with key decision-makers at institutional investors, banks, family offices, wealth managers, consultants, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Regularly assess client requirements, providing insightful feedback to internal teams, and ensuring appropriate solutions are proactively presented.
- Maintain high visibility and engagement within client organisations and the broader industry, representing BlueOrchard at conferences, seminars, and other key events.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management, ideally within private markets, fixed income, impact/ESG, or fund management.
- Proven track record of originating and securing new business with leading institutional clients.
- Client-centric mindset, with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver outstanding investment solutions and services.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and effective at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment; collaborative, comfortable working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of private markets, impact, and/or Emerging Markets is desirable.
- Fluent in English and German (French or Italian an asset).
