ROLE OVERVIEW
The Individual Giving & Strategic Philanthropy Coordinator combines project management, strategic support, and donor engagement to accelerate growth for this highly valuable audience unit, ensuring it delivers exceptional fundraising results for the organization’s mission. This role ensures the unit runs smoothly by assisting with planning, budgeting, and project management, acting as a key liaison between teams and departments to align efforts. The Coordinator engages unmanaged donors, crafts personalized communications, and supports donor events to drive loyalty. The role moves forward issues for individual giving donors, while grounding the team in wider use of our CRM, developing reports and analyzing trends.. They champion adoption of new technologies across the unit to enhance efficiency. A creative problem-solver and skilled collaborator, they work with stakeholders at various levels to achieve project milestones. Working closely with the Senior Director, the role is pivotal to advancing strategic objectives and implementing continuous improvements.
DEPARTMENT ACCOUNTABILITIES
Prospecting
Pursue strategic opportunities in coherence with MSF-USA´s strategy, that create long-term value for the movement by identifying and developing new audience segments or donors for its mission.
Donor Cultivation, Engagement and Management
Build trust and loyalty with potential and existing donors. At the simplest level, update donors on activities. At a more complex level, build long-term relationships with key donors and key donor segments. Take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the donor engagement strategy. May be through channels or through personal relationships.
Fundraising
Secure reliable, sustainable and efficient resources in alignment with MSF-US commitments.
Brand Positioning
Drive awareness and consideration through brand positioning based on the brand strategy and implement brand plans.
Best-in-Class Fundraising Systems and Capabilities
Deploy and champion the latest technological systems and capabilities that push the boundaries of what Development can produce for its donors.

Project Management
Deliver small-scale or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan.
Stakeholder Management
Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective project working relationships and to ensure that stakeholder needs and concerns are identified and met.
Budget
Deliver a budget for an area of the organization or conduct complex analyses on budget progress in other areas of the organization.
Customer Relation Management (CRM) Data
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the donor relationship management system within the area of responsibility, identifying and communicating opportunities for system improvement that may enhance the management of donor relationships.
Donor Relationship Management (Account Management)
Develop and implement a donor contact plan to communicate programmatic initiatives and engage the donors in relevant sales campaigns. Act as first point of contact for donor queries and complaints and resolve these, referring complex issues to others and ensuring that the donor receives an appropriate response.
Fundraising Events Development and Design
Coordinates event logistics such as scheduling, preparing materials, and liaising with vendors. Contributes to the creation of digital content for event promotion and assists in the ideation and planning of unique fundraising events. Supports preparation of business cases for innovative fundraising events.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 3+ years relevant experience in a business environment
• Proficiency in budgeting and associated tasks. Experience with budgeting tools like Prophix a plus.
• Project management experience, including demonstrated ability to identify and anticipate obstacles, and judge when and how to engage key stakeholders with discretion. Experience with project management tools like Asana a plus.
• Experience engaging donors on telephone, at events, or other activities.
• Self-starter with strong time management and organization skills.
• Attention to detail and deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
•Demonstrated ability to be an activator; proactively initiates and drives projects forward.
• Comfortable speaking directly with donors and external stakeholders, cultivating relationships, and addressing inquiries with confidence.

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Fundraising experience in Sustainer Giving, Midlevel Giving, Leadership Giving, Major Gifts or Planned Giving
• Familiarity with donor-advised fund giving, IRA giving, and other complex asset giving strategies.
• An ability to clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in an impactful manner.
• Previous experience with a comparably large nonprofit, agency, or corporation.
• Integrity and scrupulous adherence to donor privacy and confidentiality.
• Experience in Tableau a plus.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel for donor visits, MSF events, and industry events, with up to 25% of time spent traveling.
COMPENSATION
$78,399 to $117,599- In alignment with MSF USA’s compensation framework, new hires are offered between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
