Location: Remote, based in the MENA region


OVERALL PURPOSE

The Creative Lead is responsible for identifying and coordinating the design, implementation, and delivery of creative concepts, creative and branding assets (visuals, videos, etc.) across digital, print, and events as required. This role aims to strengthen Greenpeace MENA’s brand and messaging across multiple touchpoints.

SCOPE

The postholder is line-managed by the Branding and Communications Manager and will have to provide creative guidance to the organization. By harnessing strategic and technical expertise, the postholder facilitates the continued development, implementation, and delivery of creative assets, as well as oversees relationships with creative agencies and freelancers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CREATIVE STEER Identify and deliver strategic creative concepts and products that can contribute to meeting narrative and audience engagement objectives for online projects and offline events, in coordination with relevant teams, as well as commission freelancers and/or agencies when required.

MULTIMEDIA CONTENT Produce visual content for Greenpeace MENA’s social media channels, website, media, and email outreach, including plan, shoot, edit, and distribute photos and videos for traditional and social media.

COMMISSIONING Lead the scoping, commissioning, production, and delivery of creative assets, depending on the project needs. Evaluate offers for multimedia production and creative projects, negotiate rates, liaise with admin support for the contracting and payment processes. Expand and nurture a network of creative agencies, freelancers, and multimedia content creators from around the region, and support GP MENA’s goals to expand its creative partnerships and projects. Build and maintain relationships with National Regional Offices (NROs) and Greenpeace International stakeholders.

BRANDING
Manage the use of GP MENA’s visual branding and identity. Be responsible for the quality control of multimedia outputs and ensure consistency and compliance with our global and regional brand visual protocols and standards.

ARCHIVE AND DISTRIBUTION Update and maintain GP MENA’s multimedia library including photos and videos, keep a record of distribution, and manage archiving. Evaluate the need for stock of photos, video rushes, and audiovisuals, and negotiate rates and licensing agreements as appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE OF PRODUCTION AND TECHNOLOGY Keep abreast of developments in video and photo production, particularly regarding cameras, editing software, transmission technologies, and emerging social media platforms.

MONITORING, EVALUATION, AND REPORTING Evaluate the progress and performance of creative projects and support reporting. Ensure that regular learning is incorporated into the optimization of creative work and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

OTHER: Any other duty, as appropriate to the post and as delegated by your line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

Experience & Skills

  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience in multimedia production, creative work, and film production and distribution.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of video, photo, and graphics editing software (e.g., FCPX, Premiere Pro, Photoshop) and production skills, including scripting and camera operation.
  • Good connections with photographers, videographers, and creative/production agencies, especially in the MENA region.
  • Experience in managing relationships with suppliers including requests for proposals, identification, and solicitation.
  • Solid understanding of copyright, licensing, and media law.
  • Excellent knowledge in event production specifications, including printing materials and creative installations.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English is a must.
  • Ability to translate and present data and other technical information in engaging visual products.
