OVERALL PURPOSE
The Digital Transformation Lead is responsible for the implementation of digital transformation strategies, tools, processes, and capacity building. This role aims to strengthen Greenpeace MENA’s capacity to maximize the use of technology and achieve significant maturation to effectively engage and empower supporters.

SCOPE
The post holder is line-managed by the Engagement Director and will have to lead digital maturity initiatives to be in line with the Greenpeace Technology Vision strategies and organizational principles. This role will also involve managing and editing key digital tools and platforms, being responsible for their quality control, and ensuring they are maintained, up-to-date, and operational.

RESPONSIBILITIES

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION Contribute to the development and realization of the Digital Transformation and system strategies of Greenpeace MENA. Lead on digital maturity areas around supporter experience optimization, digital technology solutions, and digital upskilling of staff. Build strong relationships with digital leaders and practitioners in National Regional Offices and Greenpeace International.

SYSTEMS IMPLEMENTATION & ENHANCEMENT Lead the implementation and improvement of engagement systems, platforms, and tools. Manage their access, ensure they are maintained, and ensure that the software is up-to-date and operational. Provide expert input to decision makers for investing in new platforms and systems and identify opportunities for integrating new with existing ones. Communicate system features, capabilities, and benefits to staff, in clear and accessible ways, to support the maximum use of technology to reach the campaign, fundraising, and other organizational goals.

WEBSITE MANAGEMENT Manage and maintain Greenpeace MENA’s website. Upload content and ensure that the website is up-to-date and optimized for maximum digital engagement and performance. Ensure that analytics and performance tracking are set up for every project and that they function properly. Be responsible for the website taxonomy and quality control over page development by any of the other website editors to maintain digital standards. Adapt enhancements and resolve bugs as part of the system’s lifecycle.

TRAINING Provide or coordinate training in Greenpeace MENA’s digital tools, systems, and platforms. Develop templates and guidelines and offer ongoing support to staff so that they improve and leverage the use of technology for their tasks and goals.

EMAIL Co-design and implement direct email communications and journeys for different audiences to deliver on project and channel goals. Manage the email contacts database, ensuring adherence to all data protection regulations. Coordinate the implementation and testing of the segmentation strategy, configure automation workflows, and monitor email health metrics to propose any changes as necessary.

SUPPORT the development and implementation of campaign projects, with a focus on community digital mobilization. Act as the digital lead and work closely with project teams on strategy, delivery, and evaluation.

RESEARCH Conduct ongoing research into emerging technologies, trends, and methods. Understand the emergence of new platforms and tools that may be of benefit to Greenpeace from a digital engagement perspective.

MONITORING, EVALUATION, AND REPORTING Evaluate the project’s progress and shortcomings in digital engagement at designated points of evaluation and support the drafting of campaign and engagement progress reports. Ensure that learning from evaluations is incorporated into future work and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
Educational Qualification
Graduate or postgraduate degree (Master's), preferably in digital media, marketing, or computer science.

Experience & Skills
● A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with engagement and digital technology
● Knowledge of web programming languages (HTML, CSS, and JS) or highly experienced working with developers with those skill sets.
● A track record of delivering technology projects that demonstrate experience in multiple technology domains that are core to this role.
● A deep understanding of the system challenges and solutions related to delivering ambitious supporter growth and engagement strategies.
● Solid experience with segmentation and data management.
● Project planning and reporting skills.
● Strong communication and presentation skills—the ability to effectively communicate complex information in a simple and impactful manner.
● Fluency in written and spoken English
