Purpose of the Role

The Donor Campus Engagement Associate is a critical stewardship role that will facilitate meaningful opportunities to connect donors and prospects to the Obama Presidential Center (OPC).

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Donor Campus Engagement, the Associate will provide creative collaboration and process support for the implementation of a world class inaugural year and steady state donor campus engagement program. This position requires a highly-organized individual with a passion for public engagement and process management, who enjoys building relationships and engaging with a wide array of people.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Donor Tours: Lead and schedule campus tours that may be customized for individuals and small groups, with exclusive content and access, and moments of surprise and delight. Manage the donor tour reservation process.

  • Donor Engagements: Support donor events and engagement with campus programs and events. Creatively collaborate with the Deputy Director of Donor Campus Engagement on programs, events, and gifts that surprise and delight donors.

  • Communications: Contribute to regular written reports and commentary to the Development Team to ensure awareness of the campus, programs and events, program evaluations, and opportunities for stewardship.

  • Department Collaboration: Maintain close relationships across departments to inform stewardship opportunities and ensure excellent communications.

  • Donor Tour Ambassadors (Volunteers): Support the training of Development Ambassadors. Manage the database of donors and corporate donor groups that are interested in volunteering..

  • Campus Orientation: Support the campus orientation training program for Development Staff.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Deliverables / Outcomes

  • Execution of all donor engagements; specifically, tours and the campus welcome experience for donors, and support a daily culture of stewardship at the OPC.

  • Seamless and proactive communication to support relationships and collaborations with the OPC, Special Guests, OPC Programs, and Central Development teams.

  • Seamless and efficient processes that support the Deputy Director of Donor Campus Experience, and the broader Development Team.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, donor relations, or a related field, preferably within a non-profit or development context.

  • Flexibility to regularly work on weekends and some evenings.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including high-net-worth individuals.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships across departments.

  • Proactive and resourceful problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Knowledge of or interest in nonprofit fundraising or visitor experience, a plus.

The salary range for this role is between $59,755 and $74,670.

This is an on-site role based at the Obama Presidential Center.
