About Anthropic

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

The Creative Studio is Anthropic’s in-house creative team responsible for the brand expression across Anthropic and Claude. We care about craft, making things by hand and using AI when it makes sense. The team is growing, and we’re looking for people who do excellent work to join us. The stakes are real, and there’s room to shape what all this becomes.

About the role

We are looking for an Event Designer to design and art direct Anthropic's presence at physical and digital events. Working closely with the event design team, you will bring our brand to life across industry conferences, hosted events, and executive experiences — ensuring all work we produce in the world feels cohesive, elevated, and unmistakably Anthropic.

A significant part of this role involves defining how Anthropic presents itself within third-party environments where we appear alongside competitors in a crowded field. This requires strategic thinking about visual differentiation, establishing and maintaining a high creative standard for booth and spatial experiences, and providing clear art direction to external agencies and fabrication vendors to ensure execution meets our expectations.

This is a hands-on design role that extends well beyond producing booth graphics. We are looking for someone who brings rigor and craft to every surface — from environmental design and presentations to interactive elements and digital touchpoints — and who thinks carefully about how people encounter and move through a space.

Responsibilities

  • Art direct and execute design across industry conferences, hosted events, and executive experiences — including third-party events where Anthropic appears alongside competitors in a crowded enterprise landscape.
  • Establish and uphold the visual and experiential standard for booth environments, with consideration for spatial layout, environmental graphics, materials, lighting, and interactive elements that distinguish our presence.
  • Design and think through the full attendee journey — identifying how visitors encounter, enter, and navigate an Anthropic-branded space, and where design can create meaningful and memorable moments.
  • Provide creative direction to external agencies, fabricators, and production vendors, maintaining quality and brand integrity across all stages of execution.
  • Maintain brand consistency across event touchpoints, adapting our visual language to different contexts, scales, and venue constraints without sacrificing coherence.
  • Design environmental graphics, presentations, and interactive elements that communicate complex technical concepts with clarity and engagement.
  • Partner with the brand and event marketing teams to ensure creative execution remains aligned with broader strategic direction.

You may be a good fit if you

  • Have extensive experience designing end-to-end event experiences across physical build-outs and digital surfaces, including web, promotional assets, and presentations.
  • Have a demonstrated track record of art directing agencies and external vendors — providing clear direction, upholding creative standards, and managing those relationships with confidence.
  • Have experience developing strategies for how a brand distinguishes itself in third-party environments — trade shows, industry conferences, enterprise summits — and can speak to work that addressed that challenge effectively.
  • Approach booth and spatial design through the lens of attendee experience, with attention not only to aesthetics but to how a space functions for the people moving through it.
  • Are a hands-on designer capable of art directing work and sustaining quality across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Have a strong eye for brand consistency and the ability to maintain cohesion across diverse applications without producing formulaic work.
  • Can translate complex technical subject matter into clear, compelling visual communication.
  • Exercise sound judgment in balancing creative ambition with practical constraints in fast-paced environments.
  • Thrive in collaborative settings and can manage multiple workstreams with competing timelines while maintaining a high standard of output.

Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.

We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
