Kiva is a nonprofit that has been expanding access to capital through crowdfunded loans for nearly 20 years. Our global community of lenders has helped millions of people who lack access to traditional financial services start businesses, pursue education, and improve their lives. We operate at the intersection of technology and impact—combining the speed and innovation of a product-driven organization with the mission and depth of a nonprofit.
We’re at an inflection point. We’ve built a strong foundation: millions of individual lenders, long-standing enterprise partnerships, an engaged and supportive board, and a growing body of evidence on our impact. Beyond our core Kiva.org lending platform, we are expanding our impact investing capabilities—positioning us to bring significantly more capital into the system and reach more people around the world.
We are seeking an Executive Vice President, Strategic Partnerships reporting to the CEO, to lead the growth of philanthropic revenue and build long-term partnerships. This is a broad, high-impact role spanning major gifts, foundations, corporates, and catalytic capital. We are looking for a mission-driven leader who can turn Kiva’s offerings into a clear strategy and guide a team to create a strong, lasting fundraising program.
Create New Funding Opportunities
Own the overall fundraising strategy and execution across foundations, high-net-worth individuals, and corporates. Focus on identifying and creating new opportunities and pathways—not just managing what already exists.
Build to $10M+ Annually
Build a fundraising program that can reach $10M+ a year. Set the strategy, build the pipeline, and lead the team to get there from the ground up.
Make the Fundraising System Repeatable
Put clear systems in place so the team can consistently develop and close opportunities year after year and create visibility across the organization into pipeline progress.
Collaborate Across Disciplines
Partner closely with Marketing, Impact Investing, Finance, and Technology teams to identify and pursue opportunities that require cross-functional approaches.
Lead and Develop the Team
Set a high performance bar, hire great talent and build a strong cohesive team culture.
Represent Kiva Externally
Serve as a key external leader for Kiva—building relationships with major funders and partners and representing the organization with credibility on a global stage.
At this time, we can only consider applicants with authorization to work in the United States on a permanent, full-time basis; unfortunately we cannot provide visa sponsorship.
A diverse and inclusive workplace where we learn from each other is an integral part of Kiva's culture. We actively welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. We are an equal opportunity employer and a great place to work. Join us and help us achieve our mission!
