About the Fundraising Assistant, Data & Research

The Fundraising Assistant, Data & Research is a remote position that will oversee donor data and acknowledgments, manage administrative activities across the Individual Giving Team, and conduct ongoing research to grow and diversify the fundraising portfolio at 350.org. This individual has experience with CRM tools and fundraising software. This individual also has sound judgment and is detail-oriented, organized, flexible and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Fundraising Assistant, Data & Research will work closely with the entire Individual Giving Team and will report to the Individual Giving Director. An example of a primary duty will be to enter incoming donation data into Salesforce and document, track, and run reports; This includes processing checks and uploading data from third-party donation websites, stock gifts, matching gifts, and bequests.

Essential Duties

  • Enter incoming donation data into Salesforce and document, track, and run reports; This includes processing checks and uploading data from third-party donation websites, stock gifts, matching gifts, and bequests.
  • Prepare and send thank you notes and tax receipts to donors in a timely fashion.
  • Manage the Individual Giving Team’s email inbox and Google Voice, responding to all donor questions and needs.
  • Conduct thorough research on existing and new donors across fundraising tools such as WealthEngine, Relationship Science, and others.
  • Support the Individual Giving Team in administrative duties related to all donor outreach and communication.
  • Utilize research tools to create a pipeline of new individual, family foundation, and corporate donors and support the Individual Giving Team in cultivation efforts.
  • Maintain accurate notes for Individual Giving Team meetings.
  • Manage increased administrative needs during the year-end donation season, including assisting with hiring, training, and supporting temporary staff.
  • Coordinate purchases of Individual Giving Team materials and manage the timely processing of invoices for vendors and consultants.
  • Provide administrative support to the Grants Team as needed, including research, report-running, and grant application management.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Individual Giving Director.


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Google Platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
  • CRM database system(s) experience, preferably Salesforce
  • Experience working in administrative roles


Desired (but not required) skills and experiences

  • Experience with ActionKit, a plus
  • Strong capacity to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect confidential data
  • Experience communicating with donors
  • Strong commitment to climate justice and other environmental and social issues

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both independently and in teams, highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take direction from others.

Position Type: Full Time (36 hours per week)

Compensation: We offer set, non-negotiable salaries for each level, and this role is at 350.org's internal salary grade level 1.3. Please review this list for the annual gross salary for this level.

Benefits: In addition to a fully remote, 36-hour work week and two all-staff breaks per year, we offer a suite of comprehensive benefits - details depend on the location of the role, but we generally aim for employees to receive high-quality health insurance and retirement planning benefits in their respective location.

Should the position be based in the UK, the US, or South Africa, the position will be part of the respective union's bargaining unit and subject to the terms and conditions of the bargaining agreements between 350.org and the unions.
