About the Fundraising Officer, Individual Giving

The Fundraising Officer, Individual Giving is a remote position that will cultivate and steward a portfolio of individual donors, with a particular focus on refining and expanding a mid-level giving program. This individual will be in charge of creating and implementing fundraising strategies to meet their portfolio’s $2M+ annual revenue target. This individual will support the retention of current donors and grow a pipeline of new individual donors, all to meet annual critical revenue goals. The Fundraising Officer, Individual Giving will work closely with the entire Individual Giving Team and will report to the Individual Giving Director.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors, serving as a relationship manager and overseeing a fundraising strategy that delivers $2M+ in annual revenue.
  • Refine and launch a mid-level giving program that recognizes, honors, and delivers benefits to tiered mid-level donors.
  • Retain existing donors through daily, weekly, and monthly outreach and communication that steward ongoing contributions.
  • Grow a pipeline of new individual donors through research, cultivation, and solicitation.
  • Manage all portfolio donor data, updates, and information in Salesforce.
  • Support the planning and implementation of all individual giving outreach, including quarterly direct mail appeals, monthly mass-donor communication, year-end solicitations, etc.
  • Assist with all individual donor questions and needs by supporting the management of the donor email inbox and telephone line.
  • Refine and launch an influencer engagement program that draws in new global supporters and partners with our work.
  • Work closely with the Individual Giving Director to ensure proper financial forecasting and assist with other duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience on a fundraising team and supporting individual giving.
  • Experience working across multiple markets in marketing or fundraising in an international non-profit organisation.
  • Highly energetic professional with a proven track record and talent for building relationships and managing a pipeline of individual donors.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to identify prospective donors and develop successful cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship engagement strategies.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM Fundraising databases.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, work effectively with remote teams, and contribute to overall planning for individual giving at 350.org.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with Fundraising technology and tools including Zoom or similar meeting platforms, Google Suite, CRM, and online databases like Salesforce, WealthEngine, ActionKit, and others, to generate donor reports.



Desired (but not required) skills and experiences

  • Strong history of commitment to climate justice and other environmental and social issues.
  • Experience working in or collaborating with other nonprofit departments, including finance, digital fundraising, communications, and grants.


We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both independently and in teams, highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take direction from others.

Position Type: Full Time (36 hours per week)

Compensation: We offer set, non-negotiable salaries for each level, and this role is at 350.org's internal salary grade level 2.1. Please review this list for the annual gross salary for this level.

Benefits: In addition to a fully remote, 36-hour work week and two all-staff breaks per year, we offer a suite of comprehensive benefits - details depend on the location of the role, but we generally aim for employees to receive high-quality health insurance and retirement planning benefits in their respective location.

Should the position be based in the UK, the US, or South Africa, the position will be part of the respective union's bargaining unit and subject to the terms and conditions of the bargaining agreements between 350.org and the unions.
