Do you pride yourself on knowing exactly where to find the talent that others miss? Are you a sourcing expert who enjoys the "detective work" of headhunting for complex, high-impact roles? If you want to use your deep technical understanding to help a global team focused on positive impact, we should talk.

About Tiko

Tiko is an African nonprofit committed to strengthening the potential and resilience of adolescent girls across Africa. We address the “Triple Threat” of unintended pregnancy, HIV infection, and sexual and gender-based violence by building local health ecosystems that provide stigma-free, no-cost, quality-assured services.

Our model brings together key local actors: community-based organizations (CBO) with peer mobilisers who act as health companions to girls; public and private health clinics that deliver care; and retail partners that redeem Tiko Miles -our behaviour-change incentive programme that rewards service uptake and feedback.

We invest in partners by strengthening CBO capacity, training frontline workers and providers, supporting clinic quality improvement, and compensating partners based on performance. Our technology platform connects all actors by enabling referrals, verifying service delivery, facilitating payments, and generating real-time data.

Tiko operates in six countries: Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Burkina Faso, South Africa, and Nigeria, with additional offices in Portugal, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. For a clear overview of our work, we recommend watching this short video.

Globally, our team consists of +250 enthusiastic, international colleagues. Whether you are working from our biggest office in Nairobi, the fast-growing office in South Africa, or from home, our people are young, and our culture is global and dynamic. Our work environment is fast-paced, informal, and friendly.

We are open to remote work for this position and will happily accept applicants from anywhere in Portugal, and Kenya.

The Job

We are seeking a Global Talent Sourcer to become the strategic engine of our Recruitment Team. In this role, your primary mission is to reduce time-to-hire by proactively identifying and engaging high-quality talent for our most complex, technical, and senior positions across all departments.

While you will be our resident expert for IT roles, your scope is truly cross-functional. You will act as a "Talent Intelligence" partner for recruiters and hiring managers in every corner of Tiko, whether you're hunting for a niche Software Engineer, a specialized New Business Development Lead, or a high-level Risk Strategy Director. You will dive deep into role briefings, design sophisticated headhunting strategies, and build ready-to-activate talent pools that ensure Tiko remains resilient and ready to hire.

Strategic Cross-Functional Sourcing

  • Lead proactive sourcing for senior and highly specialised roles across the entire organisation, identifying top-tier talent for both tech and non-tech functions.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers from all departments to understand the "non-negotiables" and translate them into effective search strings and outreach plans.
  • Identify and inhabit the spaces where top talent hangs out—moving beyond LinkedIn to engage with candidates in their specific professional communities.

Pipeline & Relationship Management

  • Manage direct outreach and maintain trust-based relationships with potential candidates, ensuring a high-touch, professional experience from the first point of contact.
  • Develop and nurture "Business as Usual" talent pools for recurring roles across various functions, allowing for rapid activation when vacancies open.
  • Work closely with recruiters to provide regular updates on pipeline strength and surface potential risks or constraints early.

Operational Excellence & Support

  • Support the team during peak periods by conducting initial screening calls, assessing high-level fit, motivation, and technical/functional alignment.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of job postings on our careers site and ensure our salary data remains transparent and up to date.
  • Conduct thorough reference checks for recurring roles, ensuring we maintain our high standards of accountability and integrity.

About you

You are a "tech-literate" who finds genuine joy in understanding how different functions work together. You aren't just scanning for keywords; you possess the technical depth to understand the difference between a Data Analyst and a Data Engineer, or the shift from a monolith to a microservices architecture.

You are a natural collaborator who thrives on variety and is eager to apply your sophisticated sourcing techniques to help tech and the other departments to find their next star players. You are resilient, detail-oriented, and motivated by data-driven results. You are always looking for more efficient ways to find talent and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo to ensure we have the best people in every seat.

Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 3+ years of experience in-house or in an agency (permanent placement) with a strong track record in
    technical and specialised recruitment.
  • Technical & Functional Depth: A deep understanding of IT roles (software engineers, DevOps, data roles, etc.) coupled with the ability to quickly grasp the requirements of non-technical senior functions.
  • Sourcing Mastery: Expert-level skills in Boolean search, headhunting, and using diverse platforms to find "passive" talent across different industries.
  • Communication: Exceptional English skills with a high-touch, empathetic approach to candidate outreach.
  • Operational Skills: Proficiency with tracking tools like Jira, Asana, BambooHR, or other ATS platforms.
  • Values Alignment: A commitment to being impact-driven and "doing the right thing" within a remote, multicultural environment.

The Process
1st Interview: Recruitment Manager + Global Recruiter (this stage includes a live sourcing test)
2nd Interview: HR Director + Global Recruiter (Cultural)
