Context the role

The Grants Officer is part of the Grants Management team and reports to the Head of Grants. The role supports various PIE programme teams with strategic grant-making and oversees grant activities throughout the full grant cycle. It ensure consistent application of grant management policies and internal processes, working closely with the Programme Teams, Grantee Partners, and ECF Teams including Legal, Risk, Finance and Operations.


Key responsibilities  

  • Support risk and due diligence reviews for new and existing grantees by identifying and flagging potential risks. 
  • Assist in reviewing narrative and budget proposals to ensure all information is complete and aligned with our funding guidelines. 
  • Monitor and follow up with grantees who have not yet signed their grant agreements. 
  • Support Programme Leads with the review of interim and final reports, including administrative and financial checks to ensure compliance with grant conditions. 
  • Provide clear and consistent guidance to Grantee partners throughout the grant life cycle. 
  • Handle grant payments in close relation with the Finance team. 
  • Assist the Grants team with administrative related to docket submissions to the Steering Committee and Internal Review meetings. 
  • Guide PIE programme Leads through the grant-making processes by highlighting deadlines, helping them navigate SharePoint and ensuring access to key collaborative documents, and operational resources. 
  • Perform other related administrative tasks related to the grant management process.
