The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Ange-les’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. Head of Sport Presentation
The Head of Sport Presentation, will play a critical role within the LA28 Sport team, reporting to the SVP of Sport and all aspects of planning and delivery of Sport Presentation for all sports/disciplines on the Olympic and Paralympic Program. This role has the overall responsibility for both Sport Presentation and Sport Experience deliverables within operational planning for the Games and will collaborate with other LA28 functions within Sport and Games Delivery (i.e. Venues and Infrastructure, Venue Management, Ticketing and Hospitality, Games services, Transport, Accommodations, Food and Beverage, Accreditation, etc), and across the organization (including but not limited to Athlete Relations, Strategy, Marketing, Commercial, Technology, HR, and Finance).
The role will be expected to collaborate within a number of external stakeholders as well, including IOC/IPC Sport and the Olympic and Paralympic International Federations.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management
- Define the Sport Presentation and Experience strategy, including the creative program, and develop the scope, services and budget of the Function
- Identify opportunities for co-creators in the LA market to outsource, support and inform delivery of the technical and creative elements of the deliverables, allowing for innovation and unique to LA content /programming
- Center the athlete experience within the development of plans, respecting any related IF rules and the sport’s culture
- Develop a workforce strategy for Sport Presentation that ensures an experienced team of industry professional to deliver an exceptional experience in-venue
- Refine the project timelines for all Sport Presentation and Experience milestones and deliverables, insuring alignment with dependent Functions/projects
Sport Experience
- Develop along with the Olympic Fan Experience (OFX) team a program to provide spectators with opportunities to experience each sport and understand how to stay involved when the Games end
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to develop an innovative experience
Operational Planning & Delivery
- Contribute to the Event Delivery Plan for each sport/discipline to ensure that Sport Presentation’s operations are scoped and aligned within the delivery of the overall event
- Develop a Sport Presentation Operating Plan that optimizes the delivery of services across venues, finding efficiency with resourcing each sport/discipline
- Work with LA28 Technology to scope all technology requirements for Sport Presentation including videoboards
- Coordinate all lighting, and announcements,
- Develop scripts in coordination with relevant Function to ensure a seamless tone and consistent messaging within general public announcements at the competition venues
- Liaise with OBS to align operations and ensure the ultimate in-venue experience that is also captured for the broadcast audience
- Present to the IFs how each sport/discipline will be showcased in each venue, reviewing announcer selection and how the sports culture is addressed within the creative program
- Work with LA28’s Design Team on videoboard content
- Participate in any testing programs for the sports/disciplines where scoped and applicable to LA28’s involvement in the event
Administration & Program Management
- Provide reports and updates on the status of milestones/deliverables and tasks to communicate overall progress within the Function
- Lead the development of budgets and projects plans with well researched and validated information and planning assumptions
Background & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in the field of Sport Presentation or Production
- Operational knowledge of international level sport events, Olympic and Paralympic Games and/or other multi-sport Games
- An innovative and creative viewpoint, willing to challenge the status quo and thinking ahead to the future possibilities within the Movement
- Industry knowledge and network to support the development of strategies and plans for delivery
- Experience recruiting, training and leading diverse high performing teams on complex projects
- Experience collaborating with peers across multiple functional areas
- Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Strong communication, team building, and interpersonal skills
- Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to work independently to resolve issues
- Fluent working with Office suite products including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-starter with experience in evolving work independently
- Ability to work effectively in a close team environment,
- Required proven ability of building good interpersonal relationships with people across the organization, while balancing assertiveness with diplomacy
- A collaborative mindset; someone who prioritizes the team and fosters a culture of high performance without ego

Position Requirements:
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to work in an office environment, based in Los Angeles, CA
- The majority of work may be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment
- Ability to travel occasionally to different venues across the Los Angeles region and possibly outside the Greater Los Angeles region
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
Expectations:
- Ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as a background in sport
- Knowledge of National Governing Bodies in the United States as well as an understanding of the Olympic and Paralympic sport landscape

Submission Requirements:
The annual base salary range for this position is $126,000.00 - $180,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
