ITTF GROUP ACCOUNTANT:
The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), founded in 1926, is the world-governing body of the sport of table tennis with 227 member Associations in the world. The ITTF supervises the staging of World Championships annually, and several other world title events. Around 120 international tournaments are sanctioned by the ITTF yearly. Its main function is to govern and develop the sport for the benefit of over thirty million competitive players in all parts of the world.
Table Tennis is an Olympic and Paralympic sport and is in the programme of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as of all Multisport Games.
The ITTF is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on ITTF Group Accountant who has good business acumen and will be responsible for the spectrum of operational tasks and projects under the ITTF Finance department.
LOCATION: The position will be based in the ITTF Asia-Pacific office in Singapore.
MANAGER: The ITTF Group Accountant will report to the ITTF Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Group Consolidation & Reporting
- Manage the group consolidation process for the Federation and its subsidiaries
- Develop and implement consolidation reporting pack
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with applicable financial reporting standards
- Perform intercompany eliminations and consolidation adjustments, reconciliations, and consistency checks across entities
- Ensure alignment of accounting policies across the Federation group
Technical Accounting & Compliance (ITTF Entities)
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards and local statutory requirements (as applicable)
- Oversee the entire full spectrum of accounting function, including GL, AP, and AR
- Handle foreign currency translation for multi-currency entities
- Maintain strong internal controls and consolidation documentation
Period-End Close & Audit
- Coordinate and manage quarterly and annual group closing
- Prepare and maintain cashflow forecasts
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretary to ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements including VAT/GST reporting
Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain and enhance consolidation tools and reporting templates
- Drive standardisation and process improvements across the Federation
- Provide technical guidance and support to various departments across the Federation
- Develop and implement financial policies
Stakeholder Support
- Support preparation of financial presentations for the Executive Board and Management
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis, special projects, and governance initiatives
- To undertake any other tasks as may reasonably be delegated.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent)
- 3-5 years’ experience in group accounting and consolidation
- Strong knowledge of group consolidation, intercompany accounting, and FX translation
- Candidates with audit background or experience within a federation or NGO preferred
- Experience working with multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction structures
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with consolidation systems is an advantage
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across cultures and time zones
- Availability for international travel on adhoc basis
