Fred Rogers Productions is seeking a Manager of Learning and Education to work with the Director of Learning and Education in developing and implementing educational initiatives and collaborating with a variety of FRP departments, including production, marketing, communications, engagement, and licensing. This position is ideal for a professional with expertise in early childhood education, child development best practices, and a passion for educational media. The selected candidate will manage learning and education initiatives for educators, families, children, and community organizations while ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission.
This is a full-time position based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; however, remote applicants may be considered. This position will report to the Director of Learning and Education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Educational Program Management
- Manage in-house learning opportunities such as the Fred Rogers Productions Back to School Assembly and other educator-focused events.
- Manage learning and education initiatives, such as PBS Learning Media, creating materials and resources to support classroom integration.
Educator Engagement
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with schools and educational institutions, facilitating visits and partnerships that expand the reach of Fred Rogers Productions' educational initiatives.
- Organize and oversee teacher advisory councils and focus groups, gathering insights to inform future educational content and initiatives.
Education Alignment
- Assist with framework alignment and educational material reviews to ensure resources are developmentally appropriate and inclusive.
- Collaborate with production teams to integrate educational best practices into children’s media programming.
- Collaborate with marketing and community engagement teams to integrate educational best practices into promotional efforts and community outreach and events.
- Collaborate with licensing team to integrate educational best practices into consumer products and location-based licensed partnerships.
Administrative & Strategic Support
- Regularly meet with the Director of Learning and Education to align on priorities and goals.
- Support the development of educational deliverables, ensuring all materials meet high-quality learning standards.
- Represent FRP at select educational conferences and convenings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Critical thinking, empathy, flexibility, and kindness.
- Expertise in early childhood development best practices.
- Experience working with children ages 2-8.
- Experience working in or with educational children’s media
- Experience working with diverse populations, voices, and cultures.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to work effectively with diverse individuals.
- Public speaking experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Direct experience in children’s media production or educational content development.
- Experience leading educational workshops.
- Prior collaboration with schools, educators, and educational institutions.
