The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Operations Manager, Event Visitor Services:

The Operations Manager, Event Visitor Services (EVS) will report to the Head of EVS and serve as a key liaison between the EVS function and other LA28 departments.  This role is responsible for leading operational planning and execution for a designated geographic cluster of venues - including both competition and non-competition sites.

The Operations Manager, EVS will oversee planning efforts, guide on-the-ground teams, and ensure a seamless, high-quality experience for all Games visitors. This is a critical role in delivering an integrated operational strategy that aligns with broader Games-time objectives. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of the Crowd Management plans, as well as the projects and process for access control and other operational activities EVS must deliver to Games clients, ensure the security and comfort parameters. 
  • Ensure that the Federal, Governmental and City laws about the queues and assessment priorities are being respected. 
  • Ensure effective functional areas integration, mainly with venue management, security, transport, ticketing, accreditation, spectator experience and workforce. 
  • Monitor support, and advise the Operations Team throughout all the planning phases through Games Time operations. 
  • Monitor progress of the EVS Operational plans with a focus on risks. 
  • Oversee and input into the planning and implementation of Games time Workforce within their Operational area. 
  • Assist and monitor the employment for all EVS operational areas. 
  • Provide other additional duties as needed by LA28 EVS from time to time, which are consistent with the Operations Manager EVS role. 

 

Experience:            

  • Past Games Experience 
  • Planning management in sport events 
  • Management in customer services 
  • Team coordination - leadership 
  • Preparing operational documents

Position Requirements

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment based out of the LA28 headquarters in Los Angeles. 
  • Occasional travel to venue sites across the Los Angeles region is required, including both competition and non-competition locations. 
  • May be required to navigate large venues or outdoor areas under varying environmental conditions, including heat, crowds, or loud environments. 
  • Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed during peak operational periods and Games-time. 
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment (e.g., computer) and effectively manage tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $115,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
