MENTAL MODELS WE VALUE
The following mental models will enable high performance in this role:
- Shared power and inclusion: You seek out the people closest to the problem and give their views real weight, bringing diverse views into routine work as a matter of course.
- Integrity and stewardship: You treat Luminate's money, data and trust as held on behalf of others. You own your commitments and escalate ethical issues.
- Systems thinking: You see how your work connects to wider effects across Luminate and the field. You weigh knock-on efforts before deciding within your remit.
- Evidence over assumption: You test what you believe against data and lived experience before acting, basing your routine decisions on evidence frequently having explanations for them.
- Learning and adaptation: You treat plans as hypotheses and change course when the evidence says so, changing your own practice and communicating what changed.
- Long-term field view: You look beyond single partnership opportunities, observing how the field gets stronger, linking your own events and initiatives to field outcomes.
- Honest influence: You persuade evidence and keep claims accurate, with donors, media donors and media partners alike. You tailor evidence-based messages to each audience and check claims before they go out.
