The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Privacy Program Manager to ensure compliance with privacy regulations, mitigate risks, and champion privacy-first practices across the organization. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to tackle complex challenges, shape innovative solutions, and make a meaningful impact on how we protect our community and their data.

The Job

  • Contribute to the privacy impact assessment process to ensure new or modified business initiatives align with GoFundMe’s values, privacy program and privacy-by-design principles.
  • Maintain Records of Processing Activity and coordinate with internal partners on data governance initiatives.
  • Coordinate Data Subject Requests and other privacy-operational activities.
  • Implement and enhance compliance controls, policies, procedures, and programs to guide functional areas in adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts to document potential risk issues and recommend improvements or internal controls.
  • Support the administration of compliance training programs and deliver formal training for internal teams and external customers.
  • Provide day-to-day support to sales and customer support teams by addressing privacy and compliance questions and customer-facing support requests.
  • Build internal privacy knowledge through documented policies and procedures, FAQs, educational articles and other educational materials.
  • Support audit and compliance assurance projects.

You 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience 
  • Working knowledge of international privacy and data protection laws and regulations, notably the EU/UK GDPR and ePrivacy Directive/PECR, PIPEDA, CCPA and other US State consumer privacy laws.
  • Strong understanding of privacy-compliance concepts in assigned product and business operational areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and apply new and evolving global privacy laws and requirements.
  • Experience with a privacy management platforms (e.g., DataGrail, Transcend, OneTrust, TrustArc etc)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced project management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems creatively and effectively.

Preferred 

  • CIPP/US, CIPM or similar privacy professional certification desired.
  • Experience with data mapping/ROPAs and privacy impact assessments.
  • Familiarity with privacy-first product design principles.
  • Background in training or educating teams on compliance topics.

The annual U.S. salary range for this full-time position is $111,000 - $166,000. The company also offers equity and other benefits to employees, including healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance and 401(k) saving program. In addition to this wage, there are geolocation differentials that will increase pay depending on the work location. Additionally pay may vary depending on other factors including skills, experience, education, or training.
