Since 2001, we have responded to crises and emergencies in more than 60 countries, partnering with local communities to rebuild their lives and their futures together. IsraAID is now working to support affected and displaced communities across Israel, following the October 7th, 2023 attacks, focusing on Psychosocial support and educational programs.
Programs Officer – Israel Response (Northern Mission)
The Programs Officer (PO) for the Israel Response in the Northern Mission is responsible for driving the progress of programs, ensuring they are designed, implemented, and monitored in alignment with IsraAID’s standards and methodologies. The PO works under the Program Manager, in close collaboration with the Israel Mission’s Senior Programs Officer (SPO), MEAL Officer, and other relevant teams to ensure timely and effective program delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Program Design, Development, and Implementation
- Actively support the design and development of new projects or program expansions, translating concepts into program documents (PDs) and budgets that guide implementation.
- Ensure program alignment with the goals, procedures, and standards of the organization and the delegation.
- Monitor program progress, identify gaps or delays, and initiate adjustments or rethinking implementation plans as needed.
- Follow up on any update processes such as MoU extension annexes and expansion annexes in communication with IL Operations Dep.
- Maintain ongoing communication with partners regarding program implementation, addressing issues, requests, or changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Proactively flag challenges, risks, or conflicts to the Project Manager and support appropriate follow-up actions.
Programmatic Reporting and Documentation
- Ensure consistent and up-to-date reporting on internal platforms, Monday.com
- Align with IL programs and operations reporting/database mechanisms. Including periodic reports and weekly update meetings.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, organized, and accessible in the mission’s filing systems.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEAL)
- Work alongside the MEAL Officer and Project Manager to develop and refine MEAL frameworks for ongoing projects.
- Lead the implementation of MEAL plans with project teams and partners, ensuring timely and accurate data collection.
- End of project M&E report summarizing activities, accomplishments, gaps
Content Development and Technical Support
- Assist in the development of program content and training materials in collaboration.
- Ensure content reflects the needs of partners and meets IsraAID’s technical and programmatic standards.
Experience:
- 1-3 years' experience in program management
- Proven experience in humanitarian work is a mandatory requirement
- Background in monitoring and evaluation, with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
- Experience in working with stakeholders and partners, and in creating and maintaining strategic partnerships.
- Ability to work under pressure in rapidly changing environments.
Education:
- Relevant academic qualifications, such as a Master’s degree in International Development, Humanitarian Studies, or a related field.
IT Skills:
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with database management (Monday) and data analysis tools.
- Experience with communication and collaboration platforms such as Zoom
or Teams.
Languages:
- Fluency in English is required.
