Job: Senior Director for Inclusion and Belonging Job Summary: Position Overview The Senior Director for Inclusion and Belonging will be a senior leader within the Office of Inclusion and Belonging, responsible for driving strategy, analytics and implementation efforts to foster a more inclusive and equitable Barnard. Reporting to the Vice President for Inclusion and Belonging, the Senior Director will lead efforts to track institutional progress, develop inclusive infrastructure, and engage the community in meaningful, action-oriented change. Job Description: Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Implementation Lead the development and execution of campus-wide equity and belonging initiatives aligned with Barnard’s strategic goals. Create and manage project plans and implementation timelines for high-impact initiatives across departments. Build systems for cross-campus collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Equity Analytics & Insights Design and maintain dashboards and analytic tools that track key indicators related to equity, belonging, diversity, and campus climate to generate actionable insights and support strategic decision-making. Partner with campus offices to gather and analyze data that informs institutional strategy and decision-making. Translate data into insights, reports, and recommendations for senior leadership and campus stakeholders. Organizational Learning & Community Engagement Facilitate learning opportunities, data dialogues, and capacity-building sessions that advance shared understanding of equity goals. Support and coach affinity group leaders to cultivate spaces of community, identity, and inclusion. Partner with campus leaders, students, and staff to foster an inclusive campus climate through co-creation and dialogue. Institutional Leadership & Advising Serve as a strategic advisor to the Vice President for Inclusion and Belonging, offering insights on risks, opportunities, and campus climate. Represent the Office of Inclusion and Belonging in institutional working groups and committees. Champion equity-centered practices in policy, culture, and planning efforts across the College. Skills, Qualifications & Requirements: Qualifications Required Master’s degree in education, public policy, data science, sociology, or a related field. At least 7 years of experience in strategy, analytics, equity-focused work, or institutional effectiveness. Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects with measurable outcomes. Advanced skills in data visualization and tools such as PowerBI, Looker, Excel, or Google Sheets. Strong facilitation and communication skills across a range of audiences. Deep commitment to equity, anti-racism, and inclusion in institutional settings. Preferred Experience in higher education or mission-driven organizations. Familiarity with institutional research, people data, and survey design (e.g., Qualtrics, Alchemer). Experience managing or supporting employee resource groups or affinity spaces. Certification or training in Courageous Conversations or other racial equity frameworks. Compensation & Benefits Barnard College offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, generous vacation, and professional development support. Salary Range: $145,000 - $150,000 annually The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
