IsraAID’s headquarters leads the organization’s worldwide activity and it is also responsible for providing oversight, guidance and support to the different projects.

The Senior Finance Officer role is an exciting opportunity to play a role in supporting the leading humanitarian aid missions, for the organization's HQ and worldwide


Main scope of work

The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for ensuring sound financial management and oversight of IsraAID’s financial operations across the assigned region. This role plays a critical part in monitoring budget implementation, maintaining compliance with internal policies and donor requirements, and supporting strategic financial planning. The Senior Finance Officer reports directly to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Director and collaborates closely with the Emergency Operations team and integral member of the HQ Financial team.


Duties and Responsibilities include:

· Budgeting and Planning

o Support Heads of Mission and country finance teams in the assigned region with the preparation of budgets

o Provide strategic financial input during planning processes to ensure alignment with programmatic goals and funding requirements.


· Financial Control and Monitoring

o Provide support and guidance to country finance staff

o Review and validate country accounting records

o Responsible for accurate BvA (Budget versus Actual) reports from the country staff

o Key person in monitoring over/ under spending in programs budget

o Analyze financial results of countries on an ongoing basis – monthly and quarterly

o Ensure compliance with regulators, donors’ requirements etc.

o Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and risks presenting findings to FP&A Director

o Develop and implement financial models to support long-term planning and decision-making

Utilize the NetSuite ERP system to monitor, analyze, and report on headquarters budget performance.


· Emergency Operations

o Initial Emergency Phase (typically up to 4 weeks): During this period, the Finance Officer will act as a mission team member, either deployed on-site or supporting remotely. Ideally, they will be present during the first two weeks of the emergency mission.


§ Responsibilities included:

· monitoring cash flow

· completing of Budget to Actual

· reviewing expense reporting

· other urgent financial actions.

· They will also support the recruitment of the mission’s Finance Focal Point (with the seniority depending on the scale of the mission). During the mission, they will be reporting to the HoM.


o Post-Stabilization Phase:

§ issue financial statements

§ conducti BvA reviews

§ assist in budget design


· Other

o Support in development of streamlined templates and forms for internal and external financial documents

o Support countries through audits

o Transactions management (ERP system)

Operate within a matrix management structure: directly reporting to the Finance FP&A Director while serving as a key member of the Emergency Operations Desk. Due to the nature of the organization, the candidate should be prepared to undertake any other duties as required


Requirements

· University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or another related field

· Strong proficient in MS Excel

· 4+ years Experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the nonprofit sector

· Experience working internationally (advantage)

· Familiar with Financial ERP System (advantage)

· Willingness to travel internationally as needed
