The Position
As a member of our Social Media team, you will create and oversee compelling social media content that brings complex, nuanced work to life across platforms. This role works closely with internal and external partners to tell the story of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ global impact.
You will contribute to shaping our digital strategy by identifying trends, interpreting performance data, and proactively recommending content and platform opportunities. The ideal candidate is creative, highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, 24/7 news and social media environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ideate and implement social media content that translates nuanced topics into engaging, platform-appropriate storytelling
- Develop tailored content for platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging channels
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders – act as a liaison to facilitate content and projects
- Draft, copyedit, and coordinate approval for social media scripts, captions, metadata, and community posts
- Support launches, announcements, events, and other key moments with social and digital components
- Partner with agencies to develop content, including YouTube assets, Shorts cutdowns, thumbnails, and paid media campaigns
- Support community management, including monitoring comments and conversations
- Track and report on social media performance; assess what’s working and provide recommendations
- Create social media monitoring and analytics reports for key moments
- Identify and proactively recommend digital trends, formats, and platform opportunities
- Collaborate with paid media, photo/video, program communications, speechwriting, and events teams
- Support social media operations, including asset management, documentation, scheduling, and invoice processing
- Update websites using WordPress as needed to support communications efforts
Qualifications of the ideal candidate
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in a dedicated social media role
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated experience publishing and managing content across major social platforms
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
- Ability to interpret social media metrics and translate data into actionable insights
- Experience working with agencies and collaborating across internal teams
- Proficiency with standard workplace tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.

$80,000—$95,000 USD
