IsraAID is an International non-governmental humanitarian aid organization. Founded in 2001, our teams have worked in emergency and long-term development settings in more than 60 countries around the world. IsraAID supports communities affected by crises to rebuild their lives and futures together. From hurricanes to refugee crises to global pandemics, we mobilize quickly and collaborate with communities at the deepest level, accompanying the process of becoming self-reliant in the ability to prepare and respond to emergencies and crises and return to adaptive functioning.
We are looking for a senior professional to join our Management Team as Chief Humanitarian & Resilience Officer. This is a key position in the organization, overseeing the Programs department, our global missions, strategic humanitarian partnerships, and positioning within the global humanitarian arena.
This is a cover position for a year, based in Israel.
Key Roles & Responsibilites:
- Act as an active member of IsraAID's Senior Management, involved in strategic processes and leadership of the organization.
- Lead the strategic development of IsraAIDs humanitarian action
- Lead the engagement of IsraAID in the global discourse of humanitarian action (Academic institutions, partnerships, training programs)
- Manage and oversee the development and harmonization of programmatic and sectoral technical across the organization
- Lead the development of an increased footprint of regional strategy within the organization
- Oversee the accompanying of IsraAID's missions, in emergency and stable settings, in their efforts to accomplish IsraAID’s humanitarian mission, including programmatic support, operational support, and management oversight
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in management positions, both direct and matrix structures
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing multi-million USD budgets
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development of strategies and multi-layered workplans
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in global, multi-cultural organizations
- Experience in the NGO, Civil society, or Global Development sectors- an advantage
- BA
- MA in global development, management, International relations, or equivalent areas -advantage
- English - native language level
- Spoken Hebrew
- Other languages - advantage
- Ability to travel abroad for a minimum of 1 work week every 3 months
- The position is based in Israel, with a hybrid work week (office and from home)
