This part-time internship is located in Colorado (with a preference for someone who can easily travel to our Denver office and the State Capitol) and will be 15 hours per week. You will report to the State Director, Colorado. This internship will run from June 1-August 15. 

 

Common Cause is seeking an intern to work with our Colorado team; Colorado will be focused on advancing a pro-democracy agenda at the state legislature, while gearing up for the 2026 election, with goals relating to voter education and voter protection.  

 

The interns will assist with election protection programming and policy analysis.

Skills you will build and work you will be involved in:
  • Voter education events on campus 
  • Tabling at community events 
  • Testifying on bills at the Capitol or virtually during legislative session  
  • Tracking bills during the legislative session  
  • Preparing write-ups on bills, current events, and policy issues  
  • Preparing social media content and graphics  
  • Support with the organization’s leadership development program by helping to create trainings and building relationships with the program participants
  • Supporting with planning and executing Lobby Day event at the Capitol  

  


Qualifications:

You will be a good fit for this internship if you have:  

  • A passion for learning about elections, organizing, and the legislative process
  •   A desire and an ability to work in a non-partisan manner  
  • A willingness to build your organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • A willingness to build your writing and listening skills  
  • A willingness to learn new skills
