How You’ll Contribute

The Human Resources (HR) team works to find, grow and retain talent and build the NGS community. HR is dedicated to designing and building people and total reward strategies that enhance employee culture and the employee experience at NGS. The HR department includes the Business Partners, Total Rewards & Recognition, and Talent Management teams, and it leads the internship program.

Reporting to the Senior Director for Staff Talent Management, the Talent Acquisition Operations Coordinator will work in tandem with the Talent Acquisition & Talent Development teams by providing operational and administrative support. The Coordinator will be instrumental in providing a high-quality and streamlined experience for staff and candidates.

Target End Date: 8/6/2026.

Your Impact

Responsibilities Include

Talent Acquisition Administrative Support (90%)

  • Work collaboratively with the Talent Acquisition team to provide administrative, logistics, and scheduling support throughout the recruiting and hiring process

  • Schedule & coordinate phone, video, and onsite interviews with candidates, hiring managers, and panels, ensuring seamless communication with candidates and interview teams

  • Conduct application screening using NGS Applicant Tracking System (Workday)

  • Conduct reference calls and support the documentation and organization of reference feedback

  • Serving as a point of contact with hiring managers to coordinate onboarding schedule & logistics for new hires

  • Provide support for onsite career events

Talent Development Administrative Support (10%)

  • Provide support to the Staff Talent Development Team for existing and new onboarding programs including scheduling, logistics, and communication, as needed

What You’ll Bring

Educational Background

Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required

Minimum Years and Type of Experience

2+ years of work experience in an administrative role. Previous experience with Human Resources is preferred

Necessary Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience providing support to a team, scheduling, managing processes, and maintaining spreadsheets, databases and reports

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and collaborate across departments

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, think strategically, and work proactively

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), preferably Workday

  • Experience with Google Suite

Salary Information

The salary range for this position accounts for a wide range of factors including but not limited to organizational need; specific skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and more. At the National Geographic Society, individuals are typically hired at or near the starting point of the salary range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

The salary for this role is $27.84 - $29.33 per hour

Job Designation

Hybrid - At the Society, we believe in the advantages of coming together to build community, mentor and learn from colleagues, and connect more deeply with our mission. As a result, the majority of our staff are Hybrid. Our Hybrid category requires that staff work at Base Camp two days each week: every Tuesday and Wednesday. Hybrid staff are also always welcome to come in additional days each week if preferred.
